Postcards get lost. A tattoo from a trip stays. The best souvenir tattoos are small and tell a story only you know. Here are ways to find yours.

Start from the place

Málaga gives you plenty to draw from. Ideas people use for a trip:

  • A street or a skyline. The postage-stamp tattoo of a Málaga street with palm trees on our homepage is one of our own frames.
  • Palm trees and the coast. Simple, small and easy to keep readable.
  • The sea and the sun. A line of waves, a rising sun, a boat.
  • A local symbol. Málaga is Picasso’s birthplace, and its old town has a cathedral, an old fortress above it and plenty of tiled doors and balconies.
  • Food. A sardine on a skewer, olives, an orange.

Pick one thing you will still like in ten years, not whatever is in front of you on the day.

Make it personal

  • A date or coordinates. Small, quiet, and clear only to you.
  • A word or short phrase. In Spanish, or in your own language. Lettering works well small. Margo works in lettering and fine line.
  • A drawing by someone you travel with. We can adapt it.
  • A shared design with a friend or partner. See matching tattoos for friends and couples.

What size works

For walk-in prices, fine line up to 5 × 5 cm: 50 € for one piece, 80 € for two, 120 € for three, VAT included. A small piece takes 15–20 minutes. A small tattoo packed with detail blurs as it ages, so a simple design in a small size is a better souvenir than a busy one. We tell you the smallest size your design can carry. Fine line tattoos: how they heal and age explains why.

Where to put it

Choose a place that stays out of the sun while you heal and is easy to look after. We don’t tattoo hands, feet, elbows or knees, because those places age badly. We suggest a placement where the tattoo still looks like your design in five years.

How it works on a trip

  1. Send your idea. Message us on WhatsApp with a photo, a sketch, a screenshot or a frame number from our work.
  2. We draw it. Or adapt a frame, until it is right. Custom work needs an appointment, small walk-in pieces don’t.
  3. Time it for the end of your trip. A fresh tattoo can’t go in the sea, a pool or strong sun for a month. See the tattoo on holiday guide, and how long after a tattoo can you swim.

Questions people ask

Is it a bad idea to get a tattoo on holiday?

Not if you plan it. The timing matters more than the studio. Get it near the end of your trip and check the studio first: how to choose a tattoo studio abroad.

Can I get a tattoo and fly the same day?

For a small tattoo, yes, right after the session. For a large one, get it done at least 24 hours before you fly.

Can I bring my own design?

Yes. Bring a sketch, a photo or a screenshot.

Will I regret a souvenir tattoo?

We can’t promise you won’t. What helps: a simple design, a placement that ages well, and a reason that is yours and not the trip’s trend.
