Piercings at Ink’side are walk-in: no appointment, about five minutes. Lorenzo does every piercing in the studio. This is what it costs, what to expect, and how to look after it afterwards.

What we don’t pierce

We don’t do dermals or surface piercings. They migrate and get infected far too often for us to stand behind them.

What to expect

The piercing itself takes about five minutes. Our aftercare guide covers piercings as well as tattoos, with a schedule you can save to your phone calendar. If you are not sure about a placement, message us and we talk it through.

How long it takes to heal

Two months is the usual healing time, sooner or later depending on how you look after it and on your body. Harder places such as cartilage, lips and nipples can take up to a year.

How to look after it

  1. Don’t touch it for 24 hours. Leave the piercing alone for at least a day after it is done.
  2. Clean it. Wash your hands, apply the cleaning solution, and gently clean around the piercing with a cotton bud.
  3. Repeat 2–3 times a day, in the morning and in the evening. We recommend Cristalmina or a similar solution. Use it on piercings only, never on a tattoo.
  4. Don’t sleep on it. Sleeping on a piercing can cause irritation, migration or keloids.
  5. Keep your jewellery in. Don’t change it until the piercing has healed, at least 2 months. We recommend titanium, surgical steel or gold, so the jewellery settles in well.

What to avoid on holiday

For the first 2–3 weeks, keep away from the pool and the sea if you can. While it heals, wetting the piercing with salt water or chlorine can make it inflamed. That makes timing matter on a beach trip, as with a tattoo: how long after a tattoo can you swim covers the tattoo rule. The full piercing routine, with a schedule for your phone calendar, is in the aftercare guide.

If your piercing looks or feels wrong, message us. If you have pus, strong itching or pain, see a doctor.

Questions people ask

Do I need to book a piercing?

No. Walk in any day we’re open. For tattoos, small walk-in pieces are the same: walk-in tattoos in Málaga.

Does it hurt?

It takes about five minutes. A review on our page describes “almost NO pain”, though everyone feels it differently. For tattoos, see the pain guide.

Can I get a piercing and a tattoo on the same day?

Ask us when you message. Plan the sea and the sun around both. A tattoo needs a month away from the sea, a pool and strong sun, and a piercing needs 2–3 weeks. Aftercare in hot weather has the details.

What jewellery do you recommend?

Titanium, surgical steel or gold. If you have a nickel allergy, tell us before we start.
